The fridge leans back on purpose

Every fridge I have seen here tilts slightly backwards. To a European eye it looks like badly assembled furniture, and the first thing I did was try to level it. You cannot: the front feet are taller by design.

There are three reasons and all of them hold. The door swings shut under its own weight, the seal meets the frame all the way round, and the condensate runs to the back where it belongs. One of those things that look like a defect and turn out to be the answer.
